Ellyn Leamon (She/Her)

Statewide Director

Ellyn joined the Youth Development Program as the Statewide Director in December 2024.

Ellyn earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Haverford College, and her Master of Social Work degree from the University of Vermont.  Ellyn was a case manager and then the Coordinator of the Community Based Living Program at Spectrum Youth and Family Services in Burlington, VT, where she managed their residential mentoring and foster care programs.  Additionally, she worked as a clinician and also a supervisor in Howard Center’s School Services Program for 20 years.  More recently, Ellyn was the Executive Director of Arete Transitions in Burlington, a residential transitional living program for young adults.  She has been a Licensed Clinical Social Worker since 2001.

Ellyn is passionate about providing services and supports to transition-aged youth, as this has been the focus of her work for nearly 35 years. She is also a strong advocate for the therapeutic benefits of animals and, as such, she volunteers her time helping to train and certify teams through Therapy Dogs of Vermont. She volunteers with TDV doing outreaches with her dog, and she also serves as a member of their Certification Leadership Team.  When not working or volunteering with TDV, Ellyn loves to spend time with her husband and their two young-adult sons, and taking long walks with their beloved yellow lab, Maple.
